1990 Chevrolet 2500 Pickup Q&A

1990 Chevrolet 2500 Pickup Question: timing

i changed the intake gasket on my truck. i put it back together and aligned the distrubutor. now when i try to start it, it just pops out of the carbuerator. i need to know if im doing something wrong -
Answer 1
It sounds like the distributor is out of time. The best way to check is to get the engine to top dead center on compression, the distributor rotor should then be pointing to the #1 tower on the distributor cap. -

i have the engine at tdc and the rotor pointing to #1 cylinder and it still keeps popping out of the carb i checked all the valve timing and thats right -
