Question: timeing belt

I have only 48000 miles on the belt.But as you can see it has 5y on the belt.The dealer says i should change it.Ican not believe it is bad.do you think i should change it?tazd123@yahoo.com

    This belts naturally degrade over time, it is important to have this item in proper condition to prevent further damage to the engine if the TIming Belt fails. Kia recommends to replace it at the 60,000 Mile Service (that is approximately every 4 years).

    you should change timeing belt just to save you a head ach later if you dont and the belt breaks then you looking at 4 to 5 thousnad dollars the engin is aluminum its an interferce engin
