Question: ticking noise coming from drivers side of engine

ticking noise is not a exhaust leak, and usually comes after engine is warmed up or been driven. the noise comes and goes, not always there.

  Exhaust leaks are normally louder when cold and diminish as the engine heats up, and are normally not an intermittent problem. Is it possible this may be a ticking from the engine? Like the valve train or lower end?

  starts to make ticking noise usually after warmed up or has been driven. But is random, not always there.
