 Rookie

I bought this 2002 DHS new. It is now 7 years old but only has 46000 miles. I took it to the dealer for a 30000 mile checkup and had the oil changed routinely. I told them about a gluid leak when backing out of the garage which requires a sharp left turn. Now they tell me that it is the third clutch and will cost $2500 to repair. Should this cost this much and should this problem happen when it actually had only about 38000 miles ( when I entioned the fluid leak)?
