I came back on this site to check other peoples questions and happened to see your posting. You made a new posting instead of replying to the older posting. The only thing left is the pick up coil in the distributor. Distributor has to come out to replace the pick up coil. If you already did that,then there is a very,very slim chance the shaft has rotated on the upper star shaped piece.(forgot the name:) It has 8 prongs sticking out and kind of looks like a star. Over 38 years in the auto/truck repair business Ive only seen 2 chevys that had a shaft spin in the distributor. If you can get a good used distributor that would save you a lot of time and money.
