the truck surges on 1994 Ford Ranger

automatic transmission, truck surges in overdrive and when it is pulled into drive it stops. Just had transmission rebuilt and it didn't correct it.

A surge when in overdrive could be several things. Check for codes. There is a pretty good code system on these Fords. I used to work at Ford dealerships. It could be something electronic inside the trans that was not replaced during the rebuild. I would take it back to the trans shop and have them pull the codes and deal with it.
