WILL TURN OFF WHEN VECHILE IS TURN OFF THEN RESTARTED. AFTER ANOTHER FIFTY MILES THE LIGHT COMES BACK ON. IT IS NOT USING TRANSMISSION FLUID NOR DOES IT SHOW ANY OTHER SIGN OF DANGER. NEVER HAD PROBLEMS UNTIL I WAS HIT IN THE REAR END OF THE VAN. I GOT THE RIDE OUT OF THE SHOP AND HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM EVER SINCE. I WAS TOLD THE REAR END HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TRANSMISSION. ANY IDEAL WHATS WRONG ARE HOW TO FIX IT

Take it back to the shop, the rear end may have been pushed in the accident and the rear drive shaft may have rammed the transfer case.

Is this vehicle rear wheel drive? If not I don't see how it could affect the drive train.

I have a similar problem but my light flashes. It only does it when I drive up and down hills on the interstate.
