The transaxle light is on. on 2001 Ford Taurus

While driving,the transaxle light is continually blinking. The car is jerking.

This indicates a transmission issue - either electrically or mechanically. You need to have the codes pulled to get some clues and directions. I will say, unfortunately, that most concerns causing your light blinking and car jerking are not easy repairs, and will likely require major tear down and/or overhaul/replacement. Still, do start with an initial diagnostic check pulling codes and assessing your results. Good luck.
