Exhaust cam has a mark, Cam marks should face each other and the crank mark has an arrow on it it should align with rear timing cover towards the bottom of the engine. To adjust timing you will need a special wrench to adjust tension on water pump and make sure timing tensioner lines up with notch mark. Easy job pays two hours labor. These motors are junk its a dawoo korean made vehicle. I hope this helps you out.
