Question: The starter won't turn on.

 Rookie

The starter won't turn on. There is a full battery charge. The starter has 250,000 miles and 22 years of use. How much should we expect to pay to have it replaced?

    First make sure the correct voltage is getting from battery to starter to allow it to turn over. New starter will not fix that problem. Look at the estimator link at the repairpal home page for estimate in your area.

    the 90 jetta has activ seat belts, make sure its plugged in,and make sure the wires to it aren't broken.
