It us quite costly to replace, have to tear out the whole area surrounding the speedometer. Have you heard of any recalls or other cases of this happening? Would love to have some help from a dealer to get this repaired without the full ticket price.

MasterGm clusters do fail and they can be purchaced in the aftermarket. The mileage needs to be set by supplier before it is installed. Don't think there is any warranty on this. I have a 04 Avalanch that it went out on just out of warranty and local dealer got it covered for me but it was just a few thousand miles out at the time.
