My car leaks oil and was told the seal between the transmission and the drive train needs to be replaced.

    there is no seal between the engine and transmission. they
    probably told you it was the engine rear main seal that is leaking. you might want to confirm that; since it's about
    8 hours labor to replace it.

    Thank you for your response. You appear to be honest, and have lots of knowledge concerning car repairs. I was told that my transmission would have to be dropped, is that so?

    To follow up for overbys -- yes, the transmission is pulled back to access the rear main crankshaft oil seal.
