Question: the hard boot for the convertible top won't release this spring worked last year

when i depress the button on the drivers side door panel to release the hard boot to store the convertible top when its down nothing happens is there a fuse or something i should be aware of ....its finally spring and i can't put the top down major crisis

    is'nt the top switch in the center console? the "boot" will not release unless the trunk is closed and locked. often the wire harness in the trunk hinge breaks or the trunk lock motor binds. there is a manual operation proceedure in the owners manual so not "all" is lost.
