2003 Chevrolet Cavalier

Question: The engine light still on with P0440 code again

The engine light still on with P0440 code even after changed a new GM gas cap and replacesd charcoal canister, vent valve and vent solenoid. I changed oil and filter. Everytime I reset the code, The engine light comes again. What shall I do?

    Have you had the vehicle smoke tested? This should have been done first to determine sorce of leak. The only thing left to change that I can think of right now would be the EVAP lines and fuel pump seal around gas tank. I took my car to a GM dealer and they too didnt find a problem with the EVAP system even though the code comes back every day. I guess I will wait until a emissions test needs to be done then panick.
