There are reports of failures of the CCRM or Constant Control Relay Module.  The CCRM has relays and switches inside that control or provide power to the engine cooling fan, AC clutch (to engage the AC compressor), fuel pump and powertrain control module (PCM).  Single switches or relays can fail internally causing a number of different symptoms including no start conditions (inoperative fuel pump or PCM), engine running warm due to inoperative cooling fan, or the AC might not blow cold air.

I'm not sure this is the problem however it fits better than anything else. A/C began to work intermittently over the summer and then quit entirely; the compressor comes on but no cool air. Mechanic told me its not the compressor nor does it need freon. I'll deal with it next summer ;).

The AC would cut in and out...sometimes blowing just air, sometimes blowing cold. Because of this I couldn't drive in the rain because the windshield wouldn't de-fog either. I took it in today for repair. They said it was the 'Integrated Relay'. They put a new one on and they said it was fine. I got one mile away and it stopped working again. Took it back. They were a little confused over it. So they went to pick up another integrated relay, and this one worked fine. The first one they installed was bad a bad part...and they got it new from the Ford dealer just this morning. They said there seems to be a fault in them and they have seen many bad ones. Lucky me, huh?

The air conditioning fan, heater fan, defrost fan all of a sudden quit working. Took it to a local shop after checking ALL of the fuses and was told the CRM needed replaced ($85 diagnostics an $400 repair). I am looking into purchasing the part myself and doing the repair... any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Sometimes it blows out hot air instead of cold air, especially when it's hot outside and I need the AC to work. It's a disaster to have such a problem in summer when you live in TX.
