Question: the car trys to start but acts like ther is no gas going in

 Rookie

it has done this awhile. i cant touch the gas when starting it. it would flood and wouldnt start for15 min. now nothing

    That year range has several issues with fuel pump relay, electrical portion of the ignition switch, maybe even a fuel pump going bad if the mileage is high or sensors in the distributor going bad if the mileage is high. It's impossible to guess without being able to do some basic diagnostic tests or experience the problem first hand. Autozone have some popular workshop manuals for free on line once you register (for free) on their website http://bit.ly/autozone_repair_info. There is a company that independent auto repair shops get their information from, this same information is available inexpensively for people that work on their own cars.. The information is year make and model specific, covering repair procedures, torque specifications, fluid capacities and specifications, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect....     thanx so much. my dad has been a mecanic for years. but the newer they are the more frustrated he gits. he will be glad to know hes on the right path. agian THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
