The Car Shop has been serving the community of Tampa since 1992. This shop is run by Brian Stillwell, he is the owner, manager, and lead technician. Brian has more than 30 years of automotive industry knowledge and has earned his ASE Master Certification. He currently has three technicians on staff, they regularly attend training classes to keep up to date with new automotive system and repair strategies. Quality tools and equipment on hand are what we would expect to see at this Certified shop. This shop also offers a complete Detail Department! For your convenience they also offer a local shuttle service, rental car, free WiFi internet access, and early bird/after hours drop-off.

Found The Car Shop on the internet when I need my 99' Mercedes C280 worked on. Brian went out of his way to accommodate the repair. Mercedes' new policy is not to sell parts unless the service work is done at the dealership. I found the part,ignition starter switch,on the internet and had it shipped to Brian. Because each part of a Mercedes is coded to work only in a specific car, Brian had to rebuild the original switch with the one I bought. Bottom line, I had my car back within 24 hours. Brian also check the entire car for any other issues. I have lived in the Tampa area for almost 18 years and finally found an auto repair shop that I can truly trust.
Brian and staff are the best around. You can rest assured you are not getting taken advantage of here. Same location for over 20 years, means you are doing something right.
Our family has used The Car shop for almost 3 years now. Often times he saves me money by eliminating unnecessary repairs that other shops had recommended. But we now only use The Car Shop, so it puts our mind at ease knowing we are only getting things that really need to be done - and they come with the Brian Guarantee.

It's never a good thing to have to have unexpected auto repairs but the guys at The Car Shop have always provided good, honest service at a reasonable price. Brian always goes above and beyond to help me and get me back on the road. I would recommend this business to anyone. I have lived in Tampa for 23 years and have been through many car repair shops. It's nice to have finally found one that is honest and fair and stands behind their work. They are always willing to go the extra mile for me and I appreciate it.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TME W/ THIS PLACE!! I used repair-pal to help me find a shop that was good and reliable and honest, because my last experience w/ a local shop turned into a nightmare... So I take my car to top shop this morning to just have them look at it for a second opinion and after giving telling him of 3 things I was concerned w/ my car, Brian(who is extremely rude!) tells me that my car is headache that he doesn't want to be bothered w/ and turns my business away! First off, I was wanting him to just look at it, for another opinion of what was going on w/ mycar..I only had a couple of things repair at another facility and was questioning their work..which was looking at a pully that was making noise, a vibration in my front right tire and wanted to know about a valve chatter when 1st started from a cold start(which is a common issue w/ these cars).. How in the HELL that is a headache is beyond me! Leads me to believe he either isn't that knowledgeable or his too lazy to work on a car that would require more thought than he is accustomed to..How he gets good reviews for that kind of attitude is beyond me,other than the fact that his only reviews is by women..l bet if l was a woman , he wouldn't have been rude and turned away my business... Just came back from a local garage, THEY diagnosed the problems in just a FEW minutes and ALL are relatively SIMPLE FIXES, that would NOT be classified anywhere near a headache.
I was referred to The Car Shop by my friend Kellie. As a woman, one of the hardest things is to feel that you are not being taken advantage of and being treated honestly and fairly. I grew up around cars and know a bit more about them than most women. So, when I called to get a repair estimate from 3 shops prior to calling Brian, I knew I was being taken "advantage" of. When I spoke to Brian he was polite and when he gave me his quote (timing belt) it was significantly less than everyone else's. When I asked why he did not charge me labor for a particular item, he explained that it was part of doing the service correctly. Everyone else had tried to charge me for something that should have been done as standard protocol. To me, that sealed the deal. I drive over 40 minutes and almost 30 miles to take my car to the most honest and reliable mechanic I know. I HIGHLY recommend Brian and his staff at The Car Shop!
Called there service line to request estimate and guy totally blows me off. If this is what great customer service amounts to now then id be better off taking it to walmart. I would never recommend this place to anyone and will warn all to avoid it. Never seen a place refuse to assist someone without even checking the vehicle and refused to work stating he was busy enough as it is. Yup great customer service...NOT!!!
