Question: The car periodically will rev without power transfer to the wheels.

The car periodically will rev without power transfer to the wheels. This happens infrequently and without anything else being associated with the event. After stopping for a traffic light or when waiting to turn left, when I attempt to accelerate, the engine will rev without power transfer to the wheels. After a few seconds of reving the power is transferred to the wheels.

    This sounds like the transmission is acting up. I suggest you have a Volvo shop/dealership look at it, make sure the software in the transmission computer is up to date, the fluid is in good condition, and there are no faults with the transmission. They should perform a full diagnostic of the computer system to ensure everything is in working order.

    I agree. It seems to be an obvious problem with the transmission. I have had the dealer service crew look at the vehicle four times. Unless the problem happens while it is in their possession, they say they cannot determine the cause.
