The violet/black wire should have power at the tail lamps when the key is on and reverse is selected that wire goes directly to the reverse light switch at the transmission the brown/light green wire at the reverse light switch .gets power from fuse 7 (10 Amp) in the fuse box. If you have power at the switch put a paper clip across the switch wires if the lights now stay on the switch is bad.
