The Automatic Transmission may Stay in the Default Mode on Dodge Nitro

The automatic transmission my remain in the "default" mode after the engine is running with no fault codes stored. Our technicians tell us the updating the powertrain control module (PCM) software will be necessary to correct this concern.

2007 Dodge Nitro - 4WD 135,000 mi,
Shifts hard at low gear and higher gear seems to switch into neutral while driving. I have to pull over shut car off restart and it's fine .
