the air bag light stays on after the car is started and stays on. on 2006 Hyundai Sonata

this problem just started yesterday, is it a serious problem?

IT COULD BE ONE OF THE AIR BAGS OR RELATED PARTS, YOU NEED TO HAVE YOUR SRS MODULE SCANNED AND RETRIVE CODES,THEN POST THE CODES AND IL TRY TO HELP

There's a recent recall, something to do with resistance in a seatbelt switch. The recall notice says that it only affects the Air Bag light, but doesn't cause the air bag system not to work. You should be able to take it to the dealer for recall work.
