Question: Temp gauge on dash cluster, the needle goes past the bottom line below the C

overnight the needle goes about 1/4 inch past the line below the C on the gauge. While running the vehicle all day it never goes past 1/4 inch above the C. Would this be a gauge issue or could it be a bad sensor?

    could be a gauge issue, do you know what temp the eng is when the gauge is at running temp?

    i believe it is around 180 - 210

    poss sending unit or gauge, try sending unit 1st its easier
