1995 Mitsubishi Galant Question: Tansmission will not go into 4th

It does not shift into 4th gear. Instead it goes to no gear....like it is in neutral. 1st 2nd and 3rd work fine. This of course keeps me at lower speeds to keep the engine from over revving. Any help woulf be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

John

internal failure. you need a trans shop to check it and give you a bid.
when it neutrals out, that is internal.

you just need to changed your syncronizer on the 4th gear?hope i got the spelling correct?hehe..maybe your gear is already over used?it is not that expensive..you can still use the 4th gear, you just need to put force on when you shift(4th gear) and hold it.
