 Rookie

the tachometer needle elevate every time I when accelerate and keep going off the limit then it stuck even when the engine been turn off the ignition ,the speedometer and rpm seem fine.I have to disconnect battery to reset the tachometer .Sometime it work normally most of the time it not

    Problems with the gauges are not uncommon for your 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche. The warranty may have been extended to 7 years or 70,000 miles. Check with your local GM dealer to see if the extended warranty applies in your case. In order to correct your problem the gauges "cluster" will need to be removed and sent to a specialized repair facility for repair or exchange.

    This is very common on the 03-06 GMs. The cause is the motors behind the gauges are failing, they all go out eventually. You can get it repaired here - www.drspeedometer.com and there's a DIY guide here - www.howtorepairmyinstrumentcluster.com
