In certain states, where salt is used to de-ice the roads, corrosion can occur at the four-way joint connector of the hydraulic braking system leading to a brake fluid leak. This fluid loss can result in longer than expected stopping distance, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will apply an anti-corrosion wax to the four-way joint connector area to correct this concern. Some vehicles previously recalled of this concern may not have been repaired correctly. In addition, owners of vehicles outside of the affected states may request this recall be performed. Please contact your dealer to determine exactly how this recall affects your vehicle.
This limited regional recall is for vehicles currently registered or first sold in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and equipped with Takata-brand air bag inflators. Upon deployment the driver and/or passenger airbag inflator could rupture, increasing the risk of personal injury. Subaru dealers will replace the affected airbag inflator modules to correct this concern.
This recall applies only to vehicles equipped with Takata-brand air bag inflators. Upon deployment the passenger airbag inflator could rupture, increasing the risk of personal injury. Mazda dealers will replace the affected airbag inflator modules to correct this concern.
When shifted into the park position, an automatic transmission engages a locking feature which does not allow the vehicle to roll. These vehicles are being recalled because the rod which engages the park mechanism may come loose inside the transmission. As a result the vehicle may not move (stuck in park) or roll unexpectedly when the sifter is in the park position, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the automatic transmission on affected vehicles to correct this concern.
The steering column contains several components that work together to transmit the rotating motion of the steering wheel to the steering rack. These vehicles are being recalled because the inner and outer shafts of the steering column may separate from each other. If this were to occur the driver would not be able to steer the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the steering column assembly to correct this concern.
The carpeted floor mats may curl when exposed to heat due to a manufacturing fault with the floor mat backing material. Curling of the driver's floor mat could interfere with foot pedal operation increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the set of 4 carpeted floor mats to correct this concern.
In areas where salt is used on the roads, slush containing road salt can splash through a gap in the fuel tank protector resulting in corrosion of the brake lines. This corrosion may lead to brake fluid leakage resulting in reduced braking performance, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect the affected vehicles and leaking brake lines will be replaced. Anti-corrosion rustproofing wax will be applied to all recalled vehicles.
Due to the position and quantity of adhesive between the glass and its retainer, the moonroof glass may become loose or come completely off. If the moonroof were to detach from the vehicle while driving, it would become a potential road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect the condition of the glass adhesion and apply additional adhesive or replace the moonroof glass as necessary.
Components inside the front wiper motor cover can overheat and as a result, the wiper motor bottom cover may melt and/or catch fire. This is an expansion of previous a previous recall with 16 vehicles being added. Dealers will replace the front wiper motor bottom cover to correct this concern.
On 2010-2013 Subaru models equipped with an automatic transmission and Audiovox accessory remote start system, if the key fob is dropped it may begin randomly transmitting a request to start the engine, causing the engine to unexpectedly start and run for up to 15 minutes. The engine may continue to start and stop until the battery in the fob goes dead or until the vehicle runs out of fuel. If the vehicle is parked in an enclosed area, there is a risk of carbon monoxide build-up which may cause asphyxiation. Original equipment keyless entry fobs integrated on the vehicle key are not affected. Dealers will replace the affected key fobs to correct this concern.
