Subaru Baja Recall 02V282000
The Automatic Transmission May Not Hold the Vehicle in Park
Drive Train, January 8, 2003
RepairPal Expert Overview
Our Quick Take:
Vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission may roll with the gear selector in the "park" position.
What Should You Do?
Subaru will notify owners of affected vehicles beginning January 8, 2003. If you are experiencing the vehicle rolling while in "park," or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It's helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) when you call.
The transmission park mechanism located inside the automatic transmission may not hold when the selector is in the "park" position. The vehicle could move/roll without warning, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the automatic transmission parking rod assembly to correct this concern.
