My jimmy has been stuck and in 4WD for a month and a half now...i hit the button again and its supposed to switch back to 2 wheel and i hear a click noise behind the glove box but it just stays in 4WD...any ideas on why it wont switch?....Its costing me a fortune in Gas. Also i need to remove the wind shield wiper arms but i cant figure out how. I don't want to just pull on them in case they snap....any help would be much appreciated...thanks

Is it stuck in 4wheel low or 4wheel high. If it is stuck in 4wheel high there may be a fualt with the accuator for the front diff. I beleive it is vacuum controled. There is some pretty good service information available at www.autozone.com. They may have the informaiton you need for your 4wd and to remove your wiper arms.

to remove the wiper arm simpley lift the wiper arm as far as it goes and there is a little metel tab on the side where the arm meets the stud coming out of the cowl slide it away from the arm using a blade screw driver

there is a vac solenoid on the pass side firewall with a vac line coming in and the other going down the pass side to the actuator. That solenoid often fails giveing you a clicking noise right about where you say it is

if 4WD still stuck , find controller (clicking behind dash, silver box)and give it and circuit board good ground and try again.
