2001 Toyota Highlander Question: struts & engine light

Visitor, 3.0L V6, Union City, CA, April 05, 2010, 20:02

My engine light went on and this is the second time it did. The first time someone said "just unplug the battery and plug it back on after a few hours and it went away. This was two weeks ago. Now my question is, since I need to get my struts fixed (was told a month ago that front and back (I think) needed repairing that will cost $925. My questions are, will my engine light go on if my struts are getting really bad that it needs to be fixed right now and do I need both sstruts fixed at once or can I do 1 now and the other later? Thank you.

I think the engine light is separate and you should have the code read. As for the shocks and struts I recommend repairing the front first because its more vital and do the rear when you have the cash.
