Is this as easy as I'm imagining? Remove the top mounting bolts, loosen the clamp at the bottom, and misc attachments, and it just pulls out of the control arm with enough clearance? Then I put in a quick strut or have my auto parts shop replace the strut unit itself?

Yep, I hear ya'! ;-) She's going on eleven, has 179k on the clock, these front struts are original, and clean as the car is in general,I do find things rusting away.

I do hope it goes without any problems !!
My car seems to be very low then normal, when going over bumps I can hear the car scrapping the road. Do I need to change the strut bearing? I know that my car should not be this low. Please help!
can i change the rear struts on a 2004 taurus at home and if it is hard
Changed out struts/shocks with Monroe Quick Struts. Now any movement of the car makes a squeak (like styrofoam on metal). It is very embarrassing.
FIRESTONE in my local town is asking $670 for a rear struts replacement----they do 'moan' over every road pot hole or bump. The cost is After $30 Wildca...
Estimate shows cost of replacement of strut and shock absorber assembly, but what if coil springs also need to be replaced?
