DO I NEED TO CHANGE THE COMPLETE STRUT WHEN REPLACING THE HOUSING UNIT?

    No. You can just replace the cartridge. But you'll need a spring compressor to do that. If you want to save time (and money), buy Monroe Quick-struts. Its a complete spring and strut assembly ready to bolt in!
