  Four years ago Shawn installed the Teensurance tracker on our daughter's car, and when the car battery had to be changed recently it affected the tracker; it needed to be re-booted. So I dropped the car off one evening and by the next day, Shawn had it up and running again. He spent extra time to get it right and was very helpful with his explanation to me. I would take any of my cars back to Shawn for any servicing, knowing he would fairly assess the problem and do the work correctly for a fair price.

  I had recently bought a set of HID headlights and fog lights. i called around to check prices and everyone i had called told me at least $100-$200 just to install them into my scion tc. that wasnt including labor. my bf had told me about a guy his brother had grown up with and said he was really good on woring on cars so i gave him a call. Shawn is an excellent person when it comes to cars. He knows what hes doing and will tell you every step of the way. When he was putting in my light for the last time, he couldnt figure out why both headlights wouldnt turn on so he researched it to see what would be causing it not to work. this you probably dont see other shops doing. toyotas unfortunately are wired backwards so he had to take out my wires and put them back in backwards. He tried every thing until it finally worked. turned out to be that the wires that came with my HID kit werent strong enough to power both at the same time. so he used one of his stronger wires. Shawn is an excellent person and is very friendly. He will talk to you like he has known you for years. haha. but as far as service i would reccommend him to anyone. very cheap on prices and will give you the flat out truth about anything you ask him wether you want it or not. Hes very intelligent when it comes to cars and everything about them.

  I have used Street Sports since 2004.
  Only complaint I have ever had was length of time quoted verses actual repair time.
  The techs that did that job have now left, been let go or what have you.
  Shawn the owner is knowledgeable and will take care of you!

  My big brother has always talked very highly of Shawn the owner & when i needed some work done on my 99 dodge stratus he offered to take me to street sports to get it done. At first i was unsure how to react to the cluttered shop but after talking to Shawn it was very clear he knew his stuff. While working on my car he went above & beyond to get off my valve cover thingy that another mechanic had botched putting back on previously. He worked very hard & explained what he was doing every step of the way which was great because i dont know a lot about cars. He also went out of his way to show me recalls on my car that i could take to the dealer & get done for free instead of charging me a lot of money to get it done.

  I have known of Shawn for a couple of years now from walking in his store with a former friend, but it has been just these past 8 months that I have started doing business with him. When I first did business with him, I had a conversation with him about a cold air intake kit and which one he thought would be the best one for my car. He went online and showed me a couple that would work and I picked one out and had him install it for me. Two days after I had the cold air intake kit installed, my car was starting to accelerate itself and also was stalling. I called Shawn up on the phone and told him that I was at my work site and I couldn't get the car to move, and that when pushing all the way down on the pedal it would stall. He took his time to come from his shop all the way down to my work site to see what the problem was. He hooked up the diagnostic computer and diagnosed it and it pulled up 3 different codes. He told me what they were. After having the codes pulled up I had the car towed to Street Sports. Then Shawn pulled up all the codes and looked over the car and got it down to one major code which ended up being the ecm, which was causing the car to accelerate and to stall. We also found out it was recall item on the Toyota list after getting the ecm and replacing it and reprograming it. Toyota Corp was giving me hell about refunding the money, so Shawn took his time to write a letter verifying that it was replaced and that I had paid for everything.

  Later, I also had Shawn install a set of led lights under my car and he did a great job. And just recently I came to Street Sports to replace an engine mount and to check where a leak where was coming from. He took a look at it and it turned out to be that the axle seals went bad and that one of the bearings in the axles were bad. So I had him replace those parts. On top of that, Shawn got it to where I only had to pay $100 deductible and my warranty paid the rest for all three parts. That same day I had Shawn install a mesh grill kit on my car and he did a great job. Choosing to do business with Street Sports was a big risk taker for me, due to the fact that I have been ripped off so many times by other shops and dealerships. But Shawn at Street Sports took his time and proved to me that he wasn't one of those shops and that I could trust him with his judgements and work that he does on my vehicles. I've notice that there's one person trying to make Shawn look bad when he has bent over backwards for them, and gave them time and a place to store their car for free for them, and even has spent money out of his own pocket on parts and labor for their car trusting that they will pay him, and that one customer still complains. Since i've known Shawn I've seen nothing but great customer service and work done to cars, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone that needs any kind of work done to their car.

  I used to take my explorer to the "official" dealer in town. Before fixing anything, they asked me to do this and that test, which may or may not be necessary at all. They are making big money just because I am not a car-person. Anyway, expect a whole new experience with Shawn, who knows what he's doing. He tries to get the compatible and good quality parts, which are cheaper than the Ford parts. There was another problem with the electronics in my car, and I was not sure where exactly is the at-fault part. He did some research and told me there was one thing that was likely to be the problem and it was! Without paying $40 for diagnostics, problem solved! Shawn is very friendly and works around my schedule (I have a 8-5 job on the other side of Lexington)

  I own a 1990 Nissan 300zx and have been taking it to Street Sports for over five years. I have had everything done from a simple oil change to exhaust to clutch and fly wheel. The knowledge of Shawn, the owner, and his staff is always well above average. It does not matter if you are just wanting a simple oil change or to do a complete engine build, Street Sports is the place to go. I would not trust my car to anyone else.

  I found Street Sports on repair pal this summer when my A/C went out. After visiting with two other shops including the dealer I decided to give street sports my business. The guys really took the time to fix the A/C the right way spending an entire day calling dealerships around the state to make sure they used the right parts and products (Subaru a/c units are really particular in the oil and lube they use). The A/C has been ice cold ever since. The best part is, they were less than half of the cost of the Subaru dealership (and did a much better job).

  I have since taken my car to have the transmission fluid changed. They went above and beyond to help me. Every time I leave Street Sports I feel smarter as I always learn more about how my car works. I also feel confident that the job was down right.

  The technical competence of the Street Sports crew is far above average. These guys are really passionate about cars and it shows in the excellent work that they do and the attitude they have about service. Every time I've taken my car to Street Sports for service or repair, I have ended up learning something new about it from the Street Sports staff. Most shops won't take the extra time to explain all the details regarding repair or service work like the Street Sports crew. These guys go to every length to make sure that the customer is well-informed and satisfied with the work performed. These guys aren't just mechanics or technicians, they're true professionals. Street Sports is several technical levels above your average repair shop, and they are timely, honest and fair to boot. They've received my business exclusively for the last 3 years and will continue to do so as the level of service is unmatched.

  I have taken my '02 V6 mustang to StreetSports for every repair and/or upgrade. From a custom exhaust and suspension install to several oil changes, their attention to detail is unsurpassed. Ask any question and you are sure to get an honest answer which is hard to find in a shop. If you are looking for a no BS expert install this is your place.

  I purchased my 09 Subaru WRX about 1 year ago and recently decided to upgrade a few things on it. The first thing I noticed is how knowledgeable the guys are (especially the owner, Shawn) about every aspect related to cars and mechanical specifications. Some custom work had to be done in order to add the upgrades I wanted, and I couldn't be more pleased about the work. Everything was meticulously installed. Very courteous, helpful and knowledgeable people. The only shop I would take my car to. I highly recommend them for all your vehicle needs.

  I have had 6 cars in this shop, a 2001 VW Jetta 1.8t, 1999 civic, 2001 Honda S2000, 2005 nissan 350z, a 2005 Lancer Evolution, and a 2002 WRX Impreza. All have various things done from simple maintenance to fully built engines with turbo upgrades and full engine management systems. Their attention to detail is unsurpassed. You will not be disappointed.
