1993 Pontiac Grand Prix Question: Steering Wheel Removal

Rookie

I own a 1993 Grand Prix SE with the sound system controls on the center of the steering wheel (no air bag). What is the trick to get this panel of buttons off so that I may remove the steering wheel? I need to repair the self canceling mechanism for the turn signals.

I thought that car should have an air bag, if so the battery needs to be disconnected to prevent the air bag from going off (wires in yellow harness are air bag related. I looked in my information but don't see any procedure to remove the steering wheel center or controls. Once the center has been removed a threaded puller is used to pull off the steering wheel. Hopefully someone more familiar with Pontiac will be able to contribute the information you need.
