Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Problem Report
Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Service Stability Message Due to Failed Steering Wheel Position Sensor
The steering wheel position sensor may fail, resulting in the service stability message being displayed.
I just had this occur with my 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT with less than 50,000 miles. Because I bought the truck as a GM certified vehicle, the dealer covered the repair even though I was just slightly out of the warranty. Good thing, the part alone (Wheel position Sensor) is $200.00. Add to that the diagnostic time as well as the labor to replace it and the repair would have cost between 400 and 500 dollars - Visitor
