2004 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Q&A

2004 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Question: Steering shaft repairs

Has anyone encountered this clunk in the upper steering shaft? And how much did it approximately cost to fix? -
Answer 1
This is a very common problem with the 2004 C/K trucks. The latest fix is to replace the upper intermediate shaft. GM has an updated shaft with has taken care of the noise in most cases. You should be able to get this repair done for about $200. -
Answer 2
Yes I live in San Deigo California and my intermediate shaft had to be replaced here just the other day and it cost me about 350.00 and the part cost is 270.00. Hope this helps -
