Actually its a 2000 but the drop down box doesn't offer anything beyond 1999. You answered a previous question for me about a replaced steering rack which was not installed correctly, and the clock spring is broken. I have no airbags, no horn, no cruise control. It was also rubbing on the left tire when you made a sharp left turn and had to make a 3 pt. turn on right to get into a tight parking spot. A new (reman.)steering rack was installed today (the 2nd one). My next question is two fold - the actual clock now doesn't work correctly and I'm not getting cold air from the AC. Is there any connection? What else can be affected by a bad clock spring? By the way, a clock spring is on order and will be replaced by the dealer at the expense of Sears who put in the steering rack wrong.

I don't know of any connection between the broken clock spring and the A/C not working. The only things that should be affected buy the broken clock spring would be electrical items located in the steering wheel itself. Basically the electrical connection between the steering wheel and the rest of the car has been lost.

the clockspring is likely unrelated to the ac not working but if your clock is mounted in the center of the roof it is likely bad. In colorado we replace a lot of these every time the seasons change. Your AC could however be related to the other work that was done. If something was accidentally left unplugged. Unplug the connector on top of compressor & jump power to it with short wire. If compressor clicks then its ok & might just be low on refrigerant.
