1998 Ford Mustang Q&A
1998 Ford Mustang Question: Steering Issue
There is a popping noise when I slightly turn the wheel fairly slowly. As in normal corrections while driving, the popping noise will occur. I do believe this is a pop, and not a squeak while turning as the squeak problem has been answered already. How to fix this? Thanks! - teej05
Usually the first thing to check is the stabilizer bar (sway bar) and the rebuild kit is fairly inexpensive $20 to $40 plus about an hours labor. But it could be any part of the front suspension that has worn out and should be inspected by a repair shop and you can locate one here www.repairpal.com/directory - Valleyautotech
Did you recently have your power steering worked on? A lot of the time when a shop replaces the steering rack or anything, air bubbles will get in. It's not a big deal, the popping should stop on its own if that is all that it is. If it continues, get it checked out by a mechanic. - Visitor
