2009 Pontiac G5 Question: Steering column shaking. Front end shimmying back and forth.

 Rookie

Started with steering wheel shaking while accelerating. Now the whole front end shimmy's left to right.

    Need to check ball joints, tie rod ends and stabilizer end links.

    Thank you. I was also told it could be a bad tire by my mechanic who called me just now from Greece. Nice of him to call but he certainly can't help.

    A bad tire can make a lot of vibration but it will usually only pull in one direction...not back and forth as you described. Worth checking them though.

    I just bought new tites. Turns out that was the problem. And a much needed alignment. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I really appreciate it.
