1990 GMC Vandura 2500

Question: Starts sometime

 Rookie

Van starts sometime, it runs perfect but when you turn it off it may not start. It may have to sit overnight, sometimes moving the gear selector helps.

New Battery, tune up.

Is there something in the steering column beside the key switch ?

Could it be the key switch ?

  there is a neutral safety switch will prevent starting if not in P or N.

  had same problem. new fuel filter and pump. running strong now.

• sometimes it starts, sometimes it wont
  ...done with that it turned over a few times then started (expectedly). it is getting gas in the throttle body, most of the time anyway. the times it don't start there is no gas coming from the injectors....
