1991 Toyota Camry Q&A

1991 Toyota Camry Question: Starting issues

Yea, for some reason my car is starting well. When I go to start it it takes a while to catch and when it does is sputters. It's like it isn't getting enough fuel to start the engine properly. What do you think this is? Is it something serious? -
Answer 1
It is highly probable that the Idle Air Control Motor (IAC) is sticking/carboned up/ or jammed. Many Toyota dealers may insist on replacing this valve located on the bottom side of the throttle housing but I have had great success in cleaning the valve. -
