Question: Starting issue - security of "key"

Sometimes our 1998 Sebring will start and then stop; book says the key didn't pass the security check. Have to wait 15 plus minutes to try again, then sometimes OK. Has left us stranded frequently.

    I see your question has been unanswered for a long time, I hope your car is fixed by now. If so what was the cause of your problem? I know of other car makes that have problems with the security sensor located in the ignition lock cylinder. Could that be what was causing your intermittent fault?
