New battery and starter is a year old. Sometimes, it will not turn over, just get a "click" when trying to start the car. eventually, it turns over, it comes and goes. Sometimes, no problem for days. What would cause this?

First thing to check is the battery cables, they have to be clean and tight to have proper voltage to engage the starter.

I took hemicuda's advice even tho I knew the battery cables were good....however, i traced the cable to the starter and found that it had a loose connection. Took 2 minutes to tighten that up. Thank you for the answer/response...appreciate it very much.
