Starter removal on 1992 Nissan Stanza

I have the KA24E engine. I need to remove the starter to have it checked. I have found the starter (I think). The Chilton manual says to remove 6 starter bolts to get it off. I can only see 1 bolt. Does the engine have to be removed from the car to get to the other bolts? I am still trying to track down why it wont start. I have replaced the ignition switch and the computer with no change.

If this is a manual transmission the transmission will have to be removed to gain access.
