Question: starter issues?

 Rookie

My truck will not start.When I turn the key I hear a hum and a click.Charged the battery, will clean the posts tomorrow, but I wanted to check the starter. However, I cannot locate it. Can you tell me if this sounds like a starter issue and where the starter is located?

    The starter is located on the passenger side of the vehicle. It is no common for a starter to "hum". A defective starter will usually make a clicking sound from the starter solenoid contacts. If in fact it is the starter making the noise, the humming sound tells me that the starter is trying to turn the motor over and you may have a more serious problem such as a seized engine. we'll keep a positive outlook and hope it is the starter.
