Starter on 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier

replaced starter now wont start it cranks good but theft light on dash is on how do I reset theft protection

If you have the anti-theft chipped key, make sure you are using the correct key. Recoding a key is not a do it yourself job. Find a reputable repair shop of locksmith that has the proper equipment to verify key is communication with theft module.
