You've got a problem that is underlying all of these repeat failures and needs to be diagnosed by a great technician. Sounds like the first place you went didn't dig deep enough, so I recommend finding a garage that has a really good diagnostic technician and who is willing to dig into finding the root cause of the problems you are having.

I had a 2005 Subaru Forrester that stalled 5/18/2010 while I was driving and all lights flashed. It just died. If I had been on the interstate I would have been rear-ended in the most violent way. The day before it happened, I had been told by the folks at Jiffy Lube during my last oil change that during the dealership service in February, someone did not put the casing back on the air filter and it was just sitting out open. They said that this could really mess up the air sensor. They put it in the casing and 2 days later, the stall. Took it to the dealer. They said they couldn't find anything wrong with it after the diagnosis and driving it 100 miles. I didn't trust the car anymore and had to get rid of it. I couldn't take the chance it would do that again. Not worth it.

clean your IACV valve, super easy and it help control your idle, i have a 1999 and just did it the other day and it completely helped my rough idle. It right on top of your throttle body and it has a blue sticker on it. could be something else but its an easy fix
