Question: Squealing Breaks

I have a 2008 CTS with 15,000 miles. My breaks have a constant and audible squeal, since the day I bought the car. The service department tech says that it's normal because asbestos was removed from break pads. Can this be true?

MasterLooks like semi-metallic pads were optional on your CTS, Because I see all the name brand manufacturers have ceramic and semi-metallic available, So when the brake pads need replacement have ceramic pads installed because metallic pads can be noisy and you can check pad replacement cost here http://repairpal.com/estimator?car_type_id=6891 and find a shop to change them here http://repairpal.com/directory?address=39209&car_brand_na...
