Question: squeak, clunking noise and check engine light

I have a 1999 ford taurus, replaced the trans 2 years ago, 6 months ago the front lower ball joints, had the brakes checked good and replaced the entire front struts, including mounts and coils two weeks ago. I have a loud squeak and clanging noise from the front left tire when I turn the wheel and/or not. Was told it was nothing, but then today the squeak got louder and now my check engine light went on. What could it be? Also, note, a few years back I replaced all the hoses because of a vaccum leak.

    To diagnose it properly, the code should be pulled for the check engine light. It's possible that the light may have nothing to do with the noise.

    I have a 1999 Ford Taurus and owned Ford for many years. One of the squeak noise that I have always encounter over the years with Fords are the torsion bars BUSHINGS, the are made out of rubber and get dry. I change them the neoprene "the blue kind" and has it solved the problems. I hope this helps you. Good luck.
