I had this problem on my concours 2 yrs ago. The trans shop said since the whole transmission had to be taken apart to get to the part anyway, it would be cheaper in the long run to just do a complete rebuild then, before the other parts start failing. I had over 100k miles on it. My concours is in incredible shape inside and out with strong engine. The rebuild cost $3,200. I think it would have been around $2,200 without complete rebuild. Taking the trans apart is what cost so much. This in in NJ ...everything cost more here.
