Every time we have gone there we have had first class, personal service and always right on the ball. We have never had a complaint. We have been dealing with them for 20 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. The prices are reasonable, the help is friendly, and they do a good job. They analyze it and they find out what the problem is and they do a good job. The last time I went in there, they told me the steering section wasn't in a good shape and he immediately told us and fixed it. The prices that he charged were reasonable and he takes our insurance and everything.
They always take care of everything I need, and it's as fast as possible. They talk me out of the things that I don't need. They help me out and take me home and take me back to my car. Very personable. Never had any problem with having to go back from any repairs that had been done. Prices are very good. They let you know before time what it's going to cost. They'll call ahead of time before they fix it and send you a bill. They explain what you need and what you need to do.
*WARNING* I would not recommend this repair shop to anyone. I took my 2010 Toyota Corolla S vehicle to this repair shop on Tuesday Feb 3, 2015 to repair an oxygen sensor (my vehicle had a check engine light on, VSC- vehicle stability control light blinking and the traction control light on). I determined the problem before bringing the vehicle to the repair shop, base on the use of a PocketScan OBD11 that reads codes for vehicles that are made after 1996. The code was P0138 (02 Sensor Circuit High Volts -Bank 1 Sensor 2). Paul the owner did a full diagnostic and agreed that this was the problem (Code P0138). I had him replace the sensor and he charged me $323 dollars for parts and labor and verbally gave me a 12 month warranty on the work done. Two days later (Feb 5, 2015) I had the same problem, the check engine light, VSC, and traction light was back on. I once again used my PocketScan to determine the problem and it was exactly the same problem as before. I took the vehicle back to Paul at the repair shop. He had the vehicle checked again and told me it was a different sensor and wanted to charge me an additional $283 dollars to change the sensor. I said no because the problem was exactly the same as before (Code P0138). He said his diagnostic determined that it was another sensor. I ask him why his initial diagnostic did not reveal this problem, he said " These things happen from time to time". He refuse to repair my vehicle without charging me an additional fee of $283 dollars. I took vehicle to his repair shop base on his positive reviews. The first time I took the vehicle to his repair shop he told me that I would not have any problems with the same issue and if so he would repair it at no additional cost. Upon reading the receipt he printed for me it stated I had a 90 day warranty on parts and labor and not a 12 months warranty like he had originally (verbally) told me. I was disappointed and felt rip off by these so call mechanics. I came in with a problem to his repair shop and in the end I left with the same problem (back to square one)and with my pocket $323 dollars lighter. I would have not even given this repair shop 1 star but this is the lowest rating I can give. :(
He is a lying piece of garbage.. $ 325.00 for the fuel pump. $325.00 labor. Fine I didn't have a lift so. its a simple job with a lift . I paid him. No Prob. Finally I got someone I can trust. Had him change the water jackets. BIG JOB! Over $2000.00 cash. After I got it back the van shut down. every time I stopped on a hill. then would start again. THE Mechanic did not put the wires back in there protective loom. Crank sensor wire was shorting against the frame. took me and another mechanic a few days to find the half cut wire. Then the van started sounding like a tank. Turns out he didn't put the exhaust manifold gasket in correctly. So it burnt out. Paul said I had only a 30 day guarantee. When I told him about the other problems that I had repair myself. He said I should have towed the vehicle to him. when I said he should make good on the gasket. He said the mechanic who worked on the vehicle didn't work there any more. He would NOT stand behind his work Without charging me Again. I brought it down the Street to Meineke on Forest avenue. These guys are the Best. Honest Reliable.
Stay AWAY FROM South Side Auto. He Will definitely take you r money After he gains your trust First. I had to give him One STAR Because It wont let me give him ZERO!
