There is a sporadic electronic or other connection problem that prevents engine start. Have had repeated bouts with the transmission failing to upshift and two Freightliner dealers' less than satisfactory but costly service. Not sure if this is related.
Sometimes will not start until I jiggle the shift (in park). Why? on 2005 Dodge Sprinter 2500

Get your shifter linkage adjusted. It attaches to the neutral safety switch, not supposed to start unless it is registering park (or neutral) to close the switch so the starter can engage.
